Black Blood Of The Earth

Black Blood Of The Earth is one of two guitars we built for the metal band Five Ways To Nowhere.

The guitars are characterised by the colours adopted by the band: red and black.

An instrument with a ‘Super-strat’ body, designed to specifically suit the guitarist.

The special features of this instrument are many, many of them designed to match the band’s other instrument.

The LED dots on the fingerboard and the ‘skull-logo’ inlaid on the first fret are the same as those on the Secret Weapon.

Two ‘holes’ were cut in the body: in one of which LEDs were installed to illuminate the red plexiglass cover with a black skull; in the other, a system of lights was recreated to pay homage to the film ‘Back to the Future’ and the famous ‘flux capacitor’.

Completing the instrument’s light set is the red light button of the videogame ‘console houses’, with the kill-switch function.

Another special feature of this instrument is the finish of the body made of ash: the surface has been treated to highlight the wood grain and make it three-dimensional.

The red paint gives the overall colour and the black glaze gives the right contrast that highlights each wood fibre.

The result is a ‘textured’ bodysuit in every part where the lines of the fibres can be followed, from the top to the back.

The Floyd Rose tremolo bridge was fitted with the D-tune system for tuning changes and a ‘stop-box’ in the rear spring compartment.

In order to be able to use the tremolo bridge in Up and Down, a suitable slot was created to allow movement even with D-Tune engaged.

EMG 81/85 dual-mode pickups for over 8 sound configurations.

A unique guitar in its own right, conceived and designed for one of the most talented guitarists for whom we have had the honour of building an instrument and for a band that is currently playing the most prestigious stages in Europe.
